Amid hardships, he kept the business running, serving communities that relied on the familiar tastes of home—resilience became our recipe.
With Mr. Selvarathenam, son of SP Muthiah Chettiar, joining the team, SP Muthiah & Sons was officially incorporated as a partnership, laying the foundation for future growth.
With vision and determination, Mr. Selvarathenam modernized the business, expanding into FMCG and becoming the go-to source for authentic Indian food in the community.
We introduced our house brands, Gemini and Maharajah’s, offering a delicious range of authentic pickles, crispy fryums, pure ghee, and fresh papad crafted to bring traditional flavours to every home.
Began distributing leading Indian brands such as LG Hing and RRO Mustard Oil, bringing the authentic taste of India to Singapore.
Mr. Muthukumaran stepped in with fresh energy and bold ideas, re-incorporating the company as SP Muthiah & Sons Pte Ltd and taking the legacy to the next level.
We purchased our warehouse in Kaki Bukit, which became the heartbeat of our network serving over 900 retailers, restaurants, wholesalers, and ship chandlers, all supported by our trusted distribution.
The launch of SPM’s iconic SPM Sunflower Oil marked a key milestone, paving the way for the expansion of our SPM product range.
Expanded into the rice category with the launch of our best-selling SPM Gold Ponni Rice, known for its superior quality, rich aroma, and authentic taste trusted by households.
